“Nail Look of the Week” December 2017

Hello friends!

I’ve made a decision to put together all of my weekly nail looks into one blog post for the month. I’ll try it for a few months to see how it works out. Please feel free to let me know if you think this works out well or not.

So, let’s hop to it!

Week #1

I’ve been on a blue kick lately and this week I went dark with a pretty navy blue

This look features OPI infinite shine gel-lacquer in “Boyfriend Jeans”. I did freehand abstract art using “My Silk Tie” also by OPI.

Week #2

The second week was all bad. I usually paint my nails on Saturday night or Sunday afternoon, but I ran out of time. When I don’t have time to do my nails I usually paint a gold or silver glitter polish on my nails, but I didn’t even have time for that! I pretty much wore my Week 1 look through Week 2 and boy oh boy it was looking pretty shabby. I don’t think anyone noticed at work. I was bothered that my nails didn’t look good, but I had to let it go and move on.

Week #3

I came across an awesome local nail polish company while visiting my friend’s boutique. The company is called Shai and is run by a young lady. I received a sample bottle as part of a gift. As I’m sitting in the boutique admiring the polish, the lady next to me tells me that she is the mother of the owner! It was really cool to find out that the company is run by a teenager and to get to chit chat with her mother that day. You guys HAVE to try this brand. My polish wore very well during the week with minimal chipping towards the end of the week (which is normal for me). I decided to try my hand at nail stamping again and, lo and behold, it came out  PERFECTLY! I was shocked!

Week #4

I had to do my nails to mark the Christmas holiday! Thankfully I received some awesome gifts from my secret Santa/blogger buddy Maya Lane (IG: pinkcaboodle) to help me make it happen.

My Secret Santa gift included nail stencils and I was SOOO excited! One of the stencils was very thin diagonal stripes which reminded me of a candy cane. It was VERY tricky getting the stencils to work, but I was patient and it paid off. The stencils were from a company called Yi Kou. Nail color: OPI “The Thrill of Brazil”. Glitter accent nail: Orly “Rockets Red Glare”
