Dia & Co Box #4 – Unboxed and Underwhelmed

Hey y’all!

So, I got my 4th Dia & Co box last weekend and I have recorded and posted the unboxing on YouTube:

If you don’t feel like watching the video, I’ve placed a review below:

I received 5 items of clothing: 2 tops, 1 dress, I maxi skirt, and 1 pair of jeans.  Let’s go piece by piece so I can explain what went down in box #4:

Top #1

The top was nice but really not my style. I liked the lace detailing, but I didn’t love the color. I could have kept it to wear under blazers and such, but it just wasn’t something that I was attracted to.

Top #2

I liked the black and white pattern, but again, the top wasn’t my style.

By the way, the jeans/pants (shown in both photos above) had some good qualities. I really liked the elastic inside of waistband. They were very stretchy. I initially thought the straight leg would be good for casual Friday, but I think the jeans made me look dumpy. I think they would be awesome for someone else, just not for me.

I’m smiling in this picture, but I was disappointed with this dress, especially after receiving two beautiful dresses in Box #3. The pattern of this dress was a bit psychedelic. I like vintage clothes, but this pattern didn’t sit well with me. The other thing was the dress felt too long and just gave an overall feel of drowning me out.

Maxi skirts can be really cool! I have a few in my closet that I wear with sandals on the weekends. This pencil skirt is not one that I would wear. I like that it was black and white, but I typically don’t wear straight cut maxi skirts.

Ultimately, I sent the ENTIRE collection back. None of the pieces spoke to me. I honestly feel like this box was meant for someone else with a different sense of style.

After I sent it back, I really started to wonder 1) who Dia & Co is for, and 2) if I should keep getting the boxes?

This is what I came up with: I’m too picky for Dia & Co. I think Dia & Co is PERFECT for people that either don’t like to shop (I know people like this) or are too busy to shop. I think I’m a bit too engaged and involved in my own shopping process and know TOO well what I like to really be open to the box. I hope that makes sense. The reason Gwynnie Bee works for me a bit better is because ultimately I’m the one that fills the closet with stuff that I like. The surprise element is the only difference. I might not know what I will get in my Gwynnie Bee box, but I know it is something that I picked.

As for whether or not I will continue, I am not sure! What do you all think I should do? Let me know in the comments below.
